The leaves are changing to Giants Orange, which can only mean one thing – it must be fall in the City!! Now that you’ve enjoyed the World Series victory parade and a fun Halloween night dressed up as Heisenberg (and hopefully some of the cool events we went to in October) here are some of our favorite events and happenings for November.
Friday Nights at the De Young
Head on over to the De Young Museum every Friday night in November for a variety of cool stuff. Things kick off at 6pm, and include live music, spoken word, dance performances and more. Leonard Tebegetu is the featured artist this month, and he will be building an array of cool looking art from sustainable and recycled construction material.
Thanksgiving Day 5K
How guilty are you going to feel after to cram that third piece of pumpkin pie down your throat? Here is the solution! Rise bright and early on November 27th and head to Terry Francois Blvd (behind AT&T Park) to get your run on. The Feed the City 5k supports the SF-Marin Food Bank, so you can get a little feel-good on while you work off your impending feast. Plus, you get one of those sweet shirts with a turkey on it! The run starts at 8am.
The Black Keys! And Other Music….
It’s not exactly in San Francisco, but it is the Black Keys so we’ll let this one slide. The magnificent Black Keys are playing Oracle Arena on November 3rd. Come on out and jam! If you are more of a JT kind of person, you can catch Justin Timberlake at Oracle on his 20/20 Experience tour on November 22nd.
Cirque du Soleil: Kurios
Opening November 14th, Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities looks pretty promising. It will be playing at AT&T Park, and showtimes vary. For the most part, there are 4:30 and 8:00 shows Friday-Sunday, with 8:00 showings other days of the week. Tickets start at about $60. If watching people (athletes, really) doing unimaginably acrobatic stuff in costumes sounds like a good time, you can’t miss!
Off The Grid at Fort Mason
This is the biggest collection of mobile food trucks anywhere! Come check out out 30-40+ vendors every Friday from 5-10 pm at the Fort Mason Center. There are local wine, cocktail (whatever a local cocktail is…), and beer offerings, and even some live music to get you in the grubbing mood. What’s not to like?
Niners vs. Seahawks
“It’ll be a war!!!” This is a big game with our arch nemesis, the Seattle Seahawks on Thanksgiving day (11/27). Sure to be a great game. While Santa Clara is a little bit of a trek, it is always a blast to watch the games at your favorite bar in San Francisco. If you want to make the journey to the new Levi’s Stadium, there also home games against the Rams November 2nd and the Redskins November 23rd.
Comedy at Deluxe
The only thing better than stand up comedy is FREE stand up comedy! November 17th, head to the Haight and catch a free show at the Deluxe starting at 9pm.
If we missed anything awesome happening in November, please let us know!
